It's a good continuation of the first book, Fellfire Summer. In this second book we get to follow Lir of Bantam, already known to us from the first book, and Finnian. It's another story of a quest, though this time the reader gets to wait for the rug to be pulled from under our heroes' feet, with increasing anxiety. I liked the story though, it was well written. But perhaps due to this increasing anxiety, I liked the first book more.Similarly to the first book the narrator alternately follows Lir and Finnian. I like that we really get to know more about Lir in this second book, and Finnian is also a good new character. In addition to these two there are two major supporting characters.
I love the cover of this book, it's really pretty and suits Lir very well. I encountered some words that I didn't know but they weren't too many, so reading it with English as my second language wasn't a problem. Looking forward to the next book!
